Simone Trimmel from the Chair of General and Analytical Chemistry at Montanuniversität Leoben was given the Best Lecture Award at the ASAC (www.asac.at) Young Analytical Chemists Forum (JunganalytikerInnenforum, JAF) of the Austrian Society of Analytical Chemistry (ASAC) taking place 12th and 13th of May 2022 at the Department for Agrobiotechnology Tulln (IFA, https://boku.ac.at/ifa-tulln), University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. In her talk “Determination of Technology-Critical Elements (TCEs) in 7 Plant Certified Reference Materials by ICP-MS/MS”, she presented an optimized analytical methodology for the determination of 52 elements with inductively coupled plasma tandem-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS/MS). The method was validated using 7 plant certified reference materials and will soon be applied for the analysis of green façade and urban garden samples. The event was sponsored by the Journal Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry (Springer, https://www.springer.com/journal/216). The 2023 JAF will be hosted by the Chair of General and Analytical Chemistry @Montanuniversität Leoben.
