On 7th of October 2021, a joint MIDTERM meeting was held among the project participants from BOKU Wien, MeduniWien and MUL in Leoben. In the morning, the current project status was presented and discussed, and the individual work packages of the TecEUS project were reviewed.
After having lunch together, the participants went on to the Montanuniversität Leoben, where the Chair of General and Analytical Chemistry including the laboratories and clean room laboratories were visited and presented. Insights into the general research work of the institute as well as project-related work, such as the sample preparation, methodology and operation of Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), were presented to the participants of the meeting.
After the tour of the laboratories, the group was divided into two creative workshops, which focused, respectively, on the way forward regarding data exchange, experiments, sample collection, joint publishing and future projects.
All in all, it was a productive day, which gave us the opportunity to get to know each other personally and to exchange ideas outside of the regular online meetings.
